Kiai!Kiai !...Look at the word close and you'll see that its made up of two simple words,"ki" and "ai". The word "ki" means energy and the word "ai" means harmony.
That means energy in harmony or the unification of your total energy output, in harmony, for one split second. Did you know that there are more than one type of kiai? Well, there are three! Before the attack, during, and after the attack. Before the attack, kiai very loud to scare your opponent. During the attack, kiai low pitched to get the rhythm. Kiai after the attack to announce victory, or as "continuation" or follow through.
So don't just yell...KIAI !
Good luck in your training!
